Sam Severin

 

 Before joining the firm in 2019, Sam worked for eight years in the Municipality of Anchorage’s Department of Law.

Sam represented the Municipality in all types of civil litigation and administrative hearings and appeals, advising nearly all municipal departments:  specific areas include personal injury defense and occasional initiation of lawsuits, particularly for injunctive relief or code compliance.  He regularly represented Anchorage Police in litigation over privacy of police Internal Affairs files and police policies, including compliance with Brady/Giglio requirements and frequently advised and represented Development Services (building permitting and inspections).  He was instrumental in the Municipality’s demolition of Inlet Inn and execution of administrative search warrant and subsequent negotiation of demolition of Northern Lights Hotel in midtown Anchorage.

Sam parents a remarkably enthusiastic five-year-old boy and a highly motivated husky-mix puppy.  Running trails and roads from 5K to 50 miles, biking and skiing in the winter.  Sam volunteers for Challenge Alaska swimming and Nordic skiing programs, specifically focusing on skiing with a blind skier.
